What are the odds?
City Councilman Bernard Parks just happened to vote to award a lucrative airport contract to a group that included the biggest supporter of his failed run for County Supervisor.
That's quite a coincidence.
You can read about it in an article at LA Weekly's uber-excellent news blog, "LAX Concession Clash: Councilman Bernard Parks Hands $30 Million to Magic Johnson's Company."
Hey, here's a wild idea: How about renting space at OUR airport to the HIGHEST bidder?
That way, instead of a bunch of crooked politicians rewarding their cronies, we, the taxpayers, the owners of the airport benefit the most.
You gave to Parks? That's nice, but we don't care. Ask him for a "thank you" note, not a sweetheart deal.
