"Dream Act" Rant: Illegal Aliens' Dream Is Taxpayers' Nightmare

.... NOT
Let me get this straight:

Your parents brought you into this country illegally;
you received a "free" public education at my expense, along with "free" healthcare, maybe Section 8 housing subsidies and various forms of welfare; and now you want me to pay for you to have a college education, give you citizenship, and, once you get it, use it to make your family members, who are also here illegally, legal?

Does that about sum it up?

Dream Act?  More like "Dream On" Act!

You say it's not your fault you're here? Guess what? It's not my fault, either. I never wanted you here; never invited you here; never encouraged you to come here. You got a problem with the way you arrived, take it up with mom and dad.

You say you've got a dream? I've got a dream, too. It's a dream of keeping the money I work so hard to earn, instead of having to continue to foot the bill for you and the millions of your countrymen who have come here in violation of our laws.

You say you're willing to work hard, study hard, and get a good job? So was I. And then more and more of my earnings have been stolen from me, by my government, which won't even enforce our laws, to benefit you and everyone else who came here illegally.

You say you can't get a job here without a college education? News bulletin: you're not supposed to be here in the first place. News bulletin, part two: millions of Americans can't get jobs, either.

So don't go away mad, just go away. Go back to Mexico, or Guatemala or wherever, and see what kind of free education you get there. And the seat that you vacate at the local colleges will either mean one more American gets a good education, or we can cut back on the taxes the rest of us are shouldering to provide public services to people who don't belong here.

Don't think of it as deportation. Think of it as your own personal "study abroad" program. Plus, if you were going to major in Latino Studies anyway, well, you can't get much more Latino than Latin America, can you?

You say you can't get an education in the Third World country from which your parents fled? I feel for you, I really do. But first of all, it's not my problem. Second, we've seen you protesting here, and waving Mexico's flag proudly. Why not take political action in YOUR country to make it more to your liking? Maybe instead of trying to make our country to make it more like yours, you should try to make your country to make it more like ours.

Or, here's a wild idea:  You could actually comply with our laws, and apply for a student visa, the way students all over the world do, now -- you know, the students who obey our laws. That your parents cut in line doesn't mean you get to cut in line, too. While you're at it, you can arrange to spend your own money on your tuition, not mine.

Taxpayers' dreams count, too. Illegal immigration is a nightmare. It's time to wake up and elect people who will enforce our immigration laws, not repeal them.

  1. Bravo! You said it Walter, it's late in the game, but not too late. Voting in U.S. Congress (Senate) begins at 2;15. Call and tell all those senators who are shaking in their boots about being reelected e.g. Barbara Boxer. All the hispanic groups will bombard the senate lines, they are sure they will win.

  2. Tell me who to vote for.

Democrats want the Dream Act to attract votes of the new majority of Latinos.

Republicans will vote for it so their corporate masters can bring in $18000 a year chemists and engineers along with those apple pickers.

Republicans will grouse to the base that the 'larger bill' was important. HAR HAR HAR.

I'm sick of being played by both sides.

the GOP serves Multi nationals, the War Machine and Wall St ...

and the Dems give us a new wave of Mexicans who will NEVER pay income taxes unless they claw their way into the top %50 of earners - even as they overwhelm our schools, hospitals and social services!

As a bonus, Dems gave us a gay judge who single handedly overturned the will of every state that voted against Gay Marriage.

    Who represents ME???

  3. This Dream Act NIGHTMARE has an addition of a fraud-ridden proposal to recruit more illegal aliens into the military with another “path to citizenship” amnesty. As a veteran, I don’t want criminal/illegal aliens at my back, only one enemy at a time.

We the People, still own America. Thank God, Numbers USA, American Patrol.com, Fair.com, and all the Patriots who made the calls and sent the faxes and Emails to win this one!

  7. Gotta love those drugs and gangs and weapons they inject into our society, also. Makes one think, on the lists of plusses and minuses illegals add to the melting pot, the minuses outnumber the plusses more times than I even wish to fathom!!!! When the dog(illegals) bites you, and the dogs owner9our fearless leaders) allows it to continue, surely they both need a good old fashioned kick in the rumpus.
Shame on Washington for allowing this problem to begin, to fester and then to continue right in our faces! Whatever happened to those who were elected by Americans and swore an oath to uphold our most sacred values?
Political parties are just smoke and mirrors cocktail parties on the American taxpayers dimes. Once in office, the power, prestige and prminence turns them all, every one of them, into psychobabbling idiots!!!
If we Americans don't do the jobs we were hired to do, we get booted out the door. When Washington doesn't fo their jobs, they go to the media and brag about what they are doing and patting each other on the back.
If my math is correct, that leaves NOONE doing whats right for We, the People!
We are not La Raza! If our leaders want to represent illegals against the wishes of our people and our laws, they need to sneak across the border to where they will be more suited. Juat as illegals do not belong here, neither do those who walk hand in hand with them as they tread all over us!
There is no fox watching the chickens anymore, as the foxes now inhabit the henhouse!!!

    GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!
DAMN THOSE WHO WOULD DO US HARM, FOREIGN AND DOMESTIC!!!!!

  10. i live in arizona and i'm here to tell you, that MOST of the government jobs go to mexicans, i've SEEN the CITY OF PHOENIX advertise in the paper "bilingual preferred" which translates to "mexicans only need apply". go into ANY government office in Phoenix and the great majority, if not all, of the people behind the counter are mexican. why? well, we can't have a mexican come in and feel uncomfortable, can we? THEIR CULTURE MUST BE RECOGNIZED AT ALL TIMES. Forget that this is AMERICA and there are still a few non-hispanics around with a dollar or two to spend. but by all means, god forbid a customer doesn't speak english, THE LANGUAGE OF THE LAND. can't HAVE THAT. THEIR RIGHTS MIGHT GET STEPPED ON. just like if you get a ticket and go to court. SUDDENLY NO ONE SPEAKS ENGLISH AND NEEDS A TRANSLATOR (provided by OUR government) and THEY GO FIRST. I say make the "TRANSLATOR" people go last and you'd be amazed at how MANY of them suddenly speak english again. HMMMMM. Noooo, they aren't here for OUR jobs, just the ones WE DON'T WANT TO DO. bullpuckey. We are GIVING THEM EVERYTING. Just like corporate america jumped on the "fastest growing buyer base" bandwagon and directs most of the commercials at hispainics now. when i see one, i boycott that company, i hope they're listening. Because the pendulum will swing the other way, it always does. THIS IS NOT MEXICO. It's STILL AMERICA. I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO LEARN THE LANGUAGE OF INTERLOPERS, FENCE JUMPERS, IN ORDER TO GET A JOB! Stop letting them come here and SPAWN in order to stay here! In Phoenix, if you see a HISPANIC female between the age of 16 and 45 that isn't pregnant or pushing three or five kids in a stroller, it's RARE. If the parent is illegal, so is the child. Make them go home, and oh, I don't know, FIX THEIR OWN COUNTRY instead of trying to steal someone else's.

  11. As a lawyer, I've seen that same phenomenon in court: the people who don't speak English get to go first, with translators paid for by taxpayers. Meanwhile, my clients have to pay for me to sit there and wait through all that.

And I'm not talking about traffic tickets, either. I've been in court where it's a couple, speaking in Spanish, fighting about who's going to get ownership of the buildings they jointly own. So they can afford multiple buildings, but they can't afford to bring their own translator or to wait their turn like everyone else? Crazy.

  12. The argument that children shouldn't be punished for the sins of their parents begs the question of why the parents aren't punished?

Let's make this analogy: A father robs a liquor store and gives the money to his needy child. When the father is identified for the offense, should the needy child be able to keep the money because she should not be punished for her father's mistake -- and should the father go free? Of course not!
