Grants to help illegal aliens make video blogs? But of course. This is La-LA land. Read all about it in the
Los Angeles Times. Here's my favorite passage:
Organizers rolled out the program last month with a mix of grants from various foundations, including $40,000 worth of cellphones to train laborers. They fanned out to local job centers to teach workers how to upload text, photos and videos. So far about half a dozen laborers have launched their own blogs. Others are experimenting, transferring bits of broken audio and blurry images onto the Web.
Then again, if they will confess on video that they're here illegally, it could be that much easier to round them up and deport them.
Df course we should give them money, and their wives/girl friends/anchor babies. They obviously love this country. What does it matter if they are blogging their vitriol en Espanol!
ReplyDeleteNow, now Walter. You can't put a price on educational programs for people who have no business being inside this nation's borders. Remember, they just come here for a better life and, after all, this used to be Mexico ...
ReplyDeleteI love the language "half a dozen" why not say 6. Wow 40,000 dollars and six people ae doing a blog that will be gone in a couple of whoops sorry 3 months.
