History Is Written By The Victors -- Truck Sales Contracts, Too

Hey, remember how Obama and Congress decided to "invest" your tax dollars in GM, rather than simply letting the company go through bankruptcy proceedings the way dozens of other car companies have since the invention of the car?

Well, apparently they came up with a great way to boost sales of those over-priced GM trucks on which you selfishly refused to spend your money:  Obama and Congress spent your money not just to take over the company, but to buy GM trucks for Iraq's police force. Thank you so much, Mr. President!

I noticed this while watching an ABC news story the other night, which you can watch, too:  "Baghdad Makes End of Combat Operations Official."  The truck poster is featured about a minute and a half into the video. Note the distinctive Chevrolet bow-tie logo on the truck.

Do I wish the federal government had instead bought Toyota trucks for Iraq? No. I wish the federal government had not bought any trucks at all with our money for that oil-rich country. Let them buy their own trucks. After all, who's going to pay for "nation-building" here in the U.S.?
