Well, if you've been elected to the California Legislature, your first priority is to find something that's not broken, and fix it. Today's case in point: Obviously, children can't just bring a plastic bottle or Thermos of water from home to drink at lunch. So let's pass a shiny new law requiring schools to make "free" water available.
That budget will just balance itself. No need for state Senators and Assemblymen to worry their pretty little heads over a budget impasse that is billions of dollars in the red.
The children, after all, are always the highest priority. It's water, for the children, on which lawmakers should focus now.
My usual answer is to get those guys out of office but then I realize that the same type of people will just step in and continue. What to do?
