How Many CRA "Loans" Are Actually Repaid?

CRA's New Poster Child:  Robert Rizzo
The latest news from Bell -- i.e., that City Manager Robert Rizzo loaned tax money to businesses that never repaid the funds -- raises a serious question about the City of Los Angeles.

Villaraigosa, Cardenas, Garcetti, Perry and the rest of the Spring Street Gang routinely "loan" hundreds of millions of dollars of your money to politically connected businesses through the Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA). How much of that money ever gets paid back by the borrowers?

We know Villaraigosa won't disclose the figure. But how about it, City Controller Wendy Greuel? You want to be Mayor, right? So show us you're not part of the gang any more. Audit the CRA, and tell us how much money went out for "loans," and how much was ever repaid.

  1. I suppose this information is excluded from the California Public Records Act? Too bad.

  2. Believe it or not, this charming man is known to most caring California households, whereas, what is going on at Spring St. may not be.

  3. That's precisely why it's imperative I get elected so WE can have an exploratory eye into the internal operations of The Spring Street Chambers !
