The payments, made to illegal immigrants for their U.S. citizen children, included $30 million in food stamps and $22 million from the CalWORKS welfare program, according to Los Angeles County figures released Friday by Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich.There's a "Labor Day" joke in there somewhere, but I'm too ticked off at the moment to find it. Something about while you perform labor to pay your taxes, the illegal aliens are in labor to give birth to little ATMs that you fund.
The new figure represents an increase of $3.7 million from July 2009 and makes up 23% of all county welfare and food stamp assistance, according to county records.
Last year, welfare and food stamp issuances totaled nearly $570 million, an amount projected to exceed $600 million this year. In addition, county taxpayers spend $550 million in public safety -- mostly for jail costs -- and nearly $500 million for health care for illegal immigrants, Antonovich said.
Can you believe this?! Let's add it up: $600 million for welfare and food stamps; another $500 million for public safety (mostly jail), plus another $500 million for health care. That is $1.6 billion per year, for the "privilege" of living at Ground Zero for illegal aliens.
And that's not counting the annual multi-billion dollar tab for the LAUSD to baby-sit the kids and let them play with the new $54,000 "talking benches."
The newspapers always have a sob story to illustrate how badly these poor "immigrants" are treated. Never mind that immigration has always, form times past been about people who came here planning to stay, work hard and contribute to this society. That doesn't count anymore.

And I can bet that all they have to do is look down the street at the McDonald's, Burger King, the local lawn service or grocery store. Hell they are probably working for the local city government. Stop anchor baby subsidies if they can't find their husband then they need to go back to Mexico and live with their relatives until they can find their lecturious husbands. This is why California has gone bankrupt and why they are boycotting Arizona because they don't want anymore illegals coming to CA. Yes sir rediedee do. Stand up for your country and kick these leaches out of your country and do it now.

You must be an immigrant yourself, and the only poor treatment you get is that look of disgust when someone finds you are here illegally sucking off American's. Go tell it to someone who cares about your people, they put themselves in this situation by trying to insinuate themselves into our society as if they deserve to be here. Like they have a right to be here. Let me tell you they have no right to be here those that have a right to be here have gone through a long process and have earned their right to be here. Most of them work hard, learn english and obey the laws. Illegal immigrants break the law the moment they step inside this country intentionally to have their babies here or to get a job. boo hoo you poor thing I hear that violin playing in the back ground now.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I don't recall LEGAL immigrants in the past signing up for billions of dollars in welfare benefits. Nor did the government spend a fortune to accommodate people unwilling to bother learning the English language.
ReplyDeleteJust got the news my health insurance goes up $81 bucks A MONTH. I began at $186/month in 1996 and had 100% coverage, no deductibles. Now in October 2010, it goes to $500 a month, with all kinds of deductibles.

We need a ballot measure OUTLAWING ALL WELFARE benefits UNTIL the unemployment rate dips below 5%, FOR ALL PEOPLE IN L.A. COUNTY, YES, EVERY DAMN PERSON! No need for litigation like ARIZONA if it passes, as it will ban all this useless bloodsucking CRAP for all Angelinos.
We'd become a PAY YOUR OWN WAY COUNTY. Venice, Watts, South Central, Bell, all Cities in the County in 3 years WOULD BE CLEANED UP.
There are 49 other states and 57 other counties for those IN NEED to go get help. Let's go to the voters (yes the real voters, not the ones they stuff in the Ballot Boxes at Piper Center)

Sure wish people would stop buying the same old song and dance, just think about it rationally, all of a sudden in Sept. they start making a few things look rosy, In Oct, they come up with the :OCTOBER SURPRISE: (I kinda think this Oct, Hussein is going to decide to keep the Bush tax cuts in place. just a guess) anyone else got an idea of what it might be? ReplyDeleteAs a proud half-Scot (my dad was born in Forfar, which makes me half-Scotch, half water), I can attest to the virtue of immigrants. My wife, on the other hand (take her, please!), is full-blooded Mexican, and she works harder than any one I've ever known. This isn't about race or ethnicity; it's about culture, and, frankly, Mexico's culture stinks. My eyes popped out when I read that in 1994, Mexico was THIRD on the list of countries with the most billionaires (Richard Seid, The Christian Science Monitor / Forbes magazine). Mexico is, and will forever be, a parasite nation; the worst neighbor any country ever had.

Antonovich first alerted me to what welfare was costing back in the days the Daily News printed the truth without catering to the large hispanic population , but the real biggie in this out of control scene was Gloria Molina. Those are her people and she proposed an Aztec Temple constructed with tax money to be built in Panorama City. That fizzled, but dislike for America has not. She is on tape saying as much.
