Media Silence Deafening: Cheree Murdered By Illegal Alien Parolee

Jamiel Shaw, the Bologna family, and now Cheree Osmanhodzic
The late Cheree Osmanhodzic's name must now be added to the long list of innocent American citizens whose murder could have and would have been prevented if our government had simply enforced immigration laws already on the books.
The man who assaulted her, murdered her, and set her body on fire to hide his crime, was an illegal alien from Mexico named Omar Armando Loera.  He was on parole, and has a long felony record. He shouldn't have been on parole.  He should have been in prison for the crimes he committed, including the crime of re-entering the country illegally after having been deported twice.

What makes this story even creepier is that almost all of the media reports omit to mention the fact that the murderer was an illegal alien.

If you do a Google search for "Valley Village woman murder suspect," you get over 61,600 "results." But as soon as you add the words "alien" or "immigrant," the number of stories drops tremendously.

I only learned the murderer was an illegal alien because I had to drive to a hearing yesterday, and I listened to the John and Ken Show on the way. One of KFI's reporters -- Eric Leonard -- recounted the murderer's long criminal history, and his inexplicable release into the community by federal immigration authorities, after he had been delivered into their custody by the California prison system.

You couldn't find any mention of that fact in the Los Angeles Times yesterday, and today's story says merely that there are "conflicting stories" about the murderer's "immigration status." Right. What's the conflict? Is it between the Times trying to conceal the fact, and others, like KFI, daring to report it? And why use the bland, watered-down term "immigration status?" Sounds like "marital status" or "flight status." Why not use the precise legal term that applies, namely, "ILLEGAL ALIEN?"

Let me bombard you with a few more rhetorical questions: Why did the media go out of their way to omit the fact that Cheree's murderer was in this country illegally? Why don't they want the public to know that illegal aliens include not just families struggling to survive, but also violent murderers who commit crime after crime?

The KFI reporter who covered the story talked about how, at a press conference, Cheree's mother had touched the picture of her daughter.  Hearing that sent chills through me, because Danielle Bologna, whose husband and sons were murdered by an illegal alien gang member, talked about how, now that they're gone, she's "kissin' pictures."  She couldn't kiss her loved ones any more, so she kissed their pictures.

We have got to do something about this. It's wrong and unnecessary to play Russian roulette with innocent people's lives by letting illegal alien predators roam through our streets. These murders are preventable. Will we prevent them, or will we continue to let people get murdered, human sacrifices on the altar of political correctness?

The media must stop treating as taboo the fact that many illegal aliens are murderers. It's way past time to get real.

  1. Yup,very sad and so unfortunate. Government refusal to obey its own laws has to stop.

Also the PD needs to be open with public regards to Warren v DC

It is a “fundamental principle of American law that a government and its agents are under no
general duty to provide public services, such as police protection, to any individual citizen.”
    Warren v. District of Columbia,
    444 A.2d 1 (D.C. Ct. of Ap., 1981

Americans need to train on how to protect themselves. You never know when it will be required.

Firearms training. Then if it happens, site picture, site alignment, press twice.

  2. I need someone - anyone! - to inform me why a Constitutional attorney has not stepped forward to make a name for themselves by filing a class action suit against these elected/appointed officials who are blatantly violating our laws by aiding and abetting illegal aliens, have violated their oath of office, and are, by any measure, guilty of dereliction of duty.

Why is it that our government will award settlements to illegal aliens, yet American citizens harmed by illegal aliens have - to date - no recourse (supreme immunity)?

  3. Two words: sovereign immunity.
Your remedy is the ballot box, not the courtroom.

  4. A. We heard the same broadcast and had the same flashback. Ms. Bologna's haunting remarks in front of former Councilman Weiss's office are precisely what came to my mind, as well.

    B. There are some things about illegal aliens/immigration that most of the mainstream media simply won't reveal/show (for whatever reason). I learned that real fast. That's why I started to carry a camera. I saw some things at demonstrations done right in the presence of news crews that never made it into the pages of the L.A. Times or on the airwaves during 6:00 news broadcasts. And it's not as though these events wouldn't have been of interest to viewers or were irrelevant to what took place.

It's almost as if there is this agreed upon story line about our undocumented friends that includes people laboring in the fields and praying at churches, and what transpires outside of that story line often goes "unnoticed" by much of the press.

  5. How about a lawsuit against the agencies that released these criminal illegals, when they should have been sent to ICE for deportation, not released? Isn't that gross negligence?

  6. It is refreshing and gives me hope when I read that a lot of others notice what injustice is going on. It is a great idea to photograph these incidents that the media ignores, believe me there is an audience for this truth telling

  7. It's so sad. The "main stream media" fill the airways and papers with stories about the killing (in self defense)of a knife-wielding immigrant, who appears to have been here illegally from Guatamala; but they fail to spend half the time focusing on the senseless murder of a young American woman

  8. This is a travesty of justice! There is no excuse for the news media to not disclose the status of the perpetrator. There is no reason ICE should not fulfill their responsibility to deport the ILLEGAL ALIENS after they've served time for their crime. There is no reason LAPD shouldn't notify ICE that they need to deport the ILLEGAL ALIENS because they have broken the law by being in the country. There is no reason people don't join LA CLEAN SWEEP.COM to get RID of the politicians aiding & abetting these ILLEGAL ALIENS and continually put ANERICAN Citizens in danger!

  9. UPDATE:

The L.A. Times has now reported the government has made conflicting claims about the murderer: some officials say he was the subject of past "immigration enforcement actions;" a spokeswoman, however, claism the agency determined he was a U.S. citizen after "exhaustive review." Link: http://lat.ms/9OjjAc

I would like to see the evidence on which the spokeswoman bases that claim, wouldn't you? Who, exactly, made this "exhaustive review?" How did they make it? How do they explain the statement by other officials that this man was deported twice before?

What I heard Eric Leonard say was that the murderer -- just like the illegal alien shot in Westlake for lunging at cops with a knife -- had given many false names when arrested in the past, and that one had to therefore check his FINGERPRINTS to determine his identity, rather than simply checking whatever the latest NAME he provided to authorities.

I believe I heard Leonard say that Leonard himself had gone through court records to see that this man was the same man who, when using a different name, had been deported twice before.

So did this "exhaustive review" include checking prints, or just names?

One more thing: The latest L.A. Times story says the victim's name was "Cheree" rather than "Chere." I'm not sure which is right.

  10. UPDATE 2:
Eric Leonard has posed a follow-up story re the so-called "exhaustive review." He writes as follows:

"Law enforcement sources who spoke on condition of anonymity said ICE accepted a faxed document of some kind as proof of Loera's citizenship, despite the agency's previous actions to remove Loera from the U.S."

Here's the URL for Leonard's latest:

  11. P.S. Leonard adds:
"Those records and other information reviewed by KFI NEWS indicate Loera was born in Mexico and admitted to authorities he was in the United States illegally, even though federal immigration agents dropped deportation procedings earlier this year."

Did you catch that? He had ADMITTED he was in the country illegally.

  12. Well I am glad you're on it Walter... but it's sad that you pick and choose the comments on your blog. I am a family member... I was at the press conference and at the meeting before the press conference on Tuesday and you don't post my comment. I have talked to the detectives directly. Frankly, it would make for a better "story" if he was illegal. They, (the detectives) nor do we could give a crap if he is legal or illegal... we just want this piece of #### caught. It is sad that you are taking KFI's info and that you think that they know more than the detectives investigating our precious Cheree's Murder. But I am glad I gave you more copy to talk about. Perhaps, before you spew more wrong info, you should talk to the people who know. We are the ones who live with the loss of a beautiful, wonderful, sweet soul who was brutally stabbed to death by a evil lowlife piece of ####. Did you catch that Walter?

  13. Note to readers: Any "anonymous" poster can claim to be anyone. I have no idea if the foregoing comment was real or not. And, based on my experience, I would believe Eric Leonard over some government spokesman claiming an "exhaustive" review was done, especially since the same government has people saying he was deported twice. Time will presumably tell.

  14. Don't get me wrong... We appreciate John & Ken's passion in telling Cheree’s story, we would love it if they mentioned Cheree everyday, we want to keep this in the media until Omar Armando Loera is behind bars. We want the truth be told whatever it is and if Eric Leonard can find out what the real truth is, then we would be most grateful.

The detectives told us that they where going to do their own investigation, they want to know the truth too. We were very frustrated because NO one was covering her story. I too felt the same way i.e., this story wasn't being covered because of the climate in California and being politically correct. Therefore, I emailed the John & Ken show on August 24th and everyone from CNN to Dateline and everyone in between. Asking them to tell her story and show this lowlife's sketch. I didn't hear back from anyone. Now that we know who he is, we want the facts out and not have this be about politics, but about the brutal murder of wonderful, beautiful young lady who was looking forward to living her life with her soul mate Adam. Her mother Gail will NEVER, ever be the same.

Bottom line is now we want the truth and justice for our beautiful, wonderful, sweet Cheree. We are devastated, an evil heartless man brutally murdered a wonderful human being, our hearts are broken, we cry everyday, we are in the worst pain anyone can ever imagine.

So I thank you Walter for your blog and keeping Cheree’s story out there.

  15. Karen --
I am so sorry for your terrible, terrible loss. I can't even imagine what it's like to have a loved one taken away like this.

And whatever the truth is about the murderer, so be it. Time will, hopefully, tell.

I want you to understand why I wrote about her murder. I have met the families of people whose loved ones were murdered by illegal aliens. I met the Shaw family, and I met Mrs. Bologna.

What galls me about the murder of Jamiel Shaw and the Bologna family is that the murders were 100% PREVENTABLE. The murders were committed by people who were in the country illegally, and who had a criminal record.

Los Angeles and San Francisco, rather than using immigration law to remove these predators from our streets, instead grant them "sanctuary." They actually require the police to disregard whether people -- including criminals -- are in the country illegally. The District Attorney does the same thing, releasing predators back onto the streets who could and should be deported.

So, while this may seem "political" to you, I think you may want to consider the link between "sanctuary city" policies and the murder of your niece. This isn't about politics so much as it's about good and bad, right and wrong, life and death.

If that man turns out to be an illegal alien who re-entered this country after being deported twice, he could have and should have been sent to federal prison after serving his sentence in state prison. Instead, he was released onto the streets, and stole your niece's life and future.

  16. I THINK IF CHEREE HAD A KNIFE AND WAS DRUNK AND THE POLICE SHOT HER THERE WOULD BE PEOPLE IN THE STREET PROTESTING HER DEATH.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Yes, but ONLY if she were an illegal alien.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Walter... thank you, none of us could have imagined that this could happen to our own family member, someone like Cheree.

They didn't find him in the search tonight, but I am trusting (praying) they will.

I understand and we appreciate you writing about Cheree in your blog... Her murder was preventable too; he should not have been on the streets whether or not he is an illegal alien, he only served 23 of his 32 months in prison and was let out early. I agree, any illegal alien involved in ANY crime should be deported. The only reason I originally thought this was political was because of the media; as I said before, it was not being reported on, I thought it was because he was hispanic, they were not showing the suspect sketch, they only had this on air for 5 days and it was dropped. Completely. Until now.

Now that we know who murdered our beloved Cheree, we just want the facts. We want his sorry ### off the streets so he will never, ever do this to someone else’s family.

As a police officer told my daughter Tuesday at the press conference, it matters who we vote for... we need politicians in office that are tough on crime.

Another major issue we need to be concerned with in California:

  19. You're absolutely right: he did not belong on the streets, whether he was in the country legally or not.

Cheree was minding her own business, and anyone can tell from that picture of her and the dolphin that she must have been a delightful person, full of life.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Bless your and your family's hearts.
