"Valley non-profit to get $500,000 grant," says the headline in the Daily News. And another $500,000 -- of your federal tax dollars -- will be going to another group. What will they do with the $1 million that the government took away from you, me and our fellow taxpayers?
According to the paper, "The funds will help groups gather data and community feedback to develop plans that bring 'cradle-to-career' services to lower-income neighborhoods."
Fan-frikkin-tastic. That should pretty much solve everything, don't you think? We need to spend money to figure out how we taxpayers can provide "cradle to career services to lower-income neighborhoods."
I have so had it with crap like this. I would love it if the government just handled government-type things, like, say, defend the country from foreign invasion, rather than trying to provide "cradle to career services." What does that even mean?
The millions and millions squandered on pointless programs run by politically connected poverty pimps hurts our economy. That money could have and should have been spent by the people who earned it on goods and services they wanted. If they had the opportunity to spend their own money, rather than having the government squander it on their behalf, we might not have so many "lower-income neighborhoods," and such sky-high unemployment rates.

It's nearly halloween, kids. Let's pick out a costume.
