Can you figure out why the owners of these buildings -- and only these buildings -- get to display these big signs along the freeway? Hint: it's the same reason they get massive subsidies, special tax breaks, and other preferential treatment from the Spring Street Gang.
Same thing happening at the Schools. Put billboards on campus, sell the space to the highest bidder(well, not always competitive bidding), then restrict everyone else's right to advertise elsewhere.
ReplyDeleteAnd people complained about Boss Tweed's NYC Tammany Hall, Richard Daley's Chicago, Tom Pendergast's Kansas City, etc...... Hey, in Dallas the Mayor Pro Tem just got an 18-year prison sentence for corruption - maybe if Steve Cooley really gets his act together before heading off to Sacramento, we can get similar results here in LA.
