Hey, what do you do if you're already the de facto Mayor of a City teetering on bankruptcy, and you want to dupe people into making you the actual Mayor? Easy! You pretend you haven't been an insider for the past two years, and start pointing fingers at your rivals, the members of the City Council. Good luck with that one, A.B.

I did some research on Austin Beutner last week. Just curious about this guy who seems to be running the city. Within 10 minutes I had him pegged as a member of the Council on Foreign Relations. The exclusive Globalist, One World Government organization whose members include high ranking politicians, media and business executives. Yep, his name was on their membership list. And if you think about it, it makes sense. Antonio was told by CFR that this guy's taking charge. Then to make it official he'll be running for Mayor in 2013.
ReplyDeleteThat doesn't worry me at all. A lot of people join the Council on Foreign relations just for the buffet. It's absolutely fantastic.
ReplyDeleteI understand and support the idea of making the City efficient and cost effective.
ReplyDeleteAs you correctly pointed out with graphs, it wouldn't be that hard - just make the cuts!
But Beutner's approach of selling off City Assets was horrible especially in light of not being in the best long-term interests of the public such as the plan to sell-off parking lots under the Mayor's "P3" plan.
Beutner and the Mayor would sell off long-term holdings to deal with short-term budget problems.
Of course, by not addressing the short-term budget issues back in 2005, the Mayor has allowed those problems to fester and snowball into major problems.
And on a separate note, I could do without another Billionaire, Rick Caruso after his use of Glendale and Eminent Domain to threaten a small property owner.
PS: Thanks for your position on Redevelopment.
I've heard that. Worth the price of membership. And then there's those cool buttons you get when you join.
