Who Will Run For City Attorney In 2013? City Controller?

Several people have formed committees to raise money to run for Mayor of L.A. in the March 2013, including -- unless you rely on the Los Angeles Times for your information -- attorney and radio talk-show host Kevin James.

No one, however, has formed a committee to run for City Attorney or City Controller.  How about it, people?

Don't look at me. I already tried running for office twice. Why don't you try it at least once: run for office. If you win, you get to fix the city. If you lose, you earn the right to complain.

If you know an attorney or an accountant who's smart enough to do the job well, and stupid enough to volunteer for it, try to dupe them into running. It's loads of fun -- especially the part where people just make up lies about you and call you names because they can't debate policy.

Meanwhile, I'll see if I can bamboozle David Berger into running again. He would make a TERRIFIC City Attorney. Hey, maybe I'll get Lee Baca to write a letter to draft him.

David Berger:  Guilty of stealing. . . the show.

Plus, beginning on September 5, 2011, you can form a committee to start raising money to run for City Council in 2013.  Half the seats will be up for grabs:  the odd-numbered districts.

  2. Oh come on David Berger, you're just the man for the job! I'll split my time and campaign for you and Kevin.

By the way, what's with the petition to draft Nuch for DA? I thought Nuch was already getting ready to run for DA, thinking Cooley was a sure win? Petition to "draft" a candidate? Is this a new Baca strategy? Hey Suzy Evans, how about you?

Hey, what about me? I'd be glad to prosecute protesters who throw themselves on the street and block traffic.

  3. Maybe you can get him to change his name to Hamilton Burger, except remember...he never won a case. Where the hell's Perry Mason when you need him.

  4. I don't think I will be running for City Controller again. I loved my 2009 race, but I think someone else should run.
Perfect candidate would be a CFO of medium to large company-- who of course loves this city and hates corruption.
